The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) under the Convention on Long-Range Transboundary Air Pollution (LRTAP) is working with the International Cooperative Programme (ICP) on monitoring effects of air pollution on ecosystems and the Working Group on Effects (WGE). Coordination of this programme was handed over to the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, Russia at the regular meeting of the working group of the UN Commission on Air in Europe, which was held on 29 January 2014 in Paris. Head of sector of neutron activation analysis and applied research of the Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics M.V. Frontasieva was appointed Coordinator of one of programmes of the working group. M.V. Frontasieva will report on JINR’s participation in the UN Programme on Air in Europe on 1 March 2014 in the lecture hall "Popular Science" organized by the JINR Museum of the History of Science and Technology.
