Participants of the Programme Committee of the 24th International Crimean Conference «Microwave & Telecommunication Technology» (CriMiCo’2014) visited the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research on 29 May 2014. The delegation consisted of scientists well-known in the fields of microwave devices, including accelerator techniques, professors, heads of university chairs, directors of scientific and production associations.

The delegation visited VBLHEP where in the hall of the Synchrophasotron Scientific Secretary D.V. Peshehonov and Acting Department director A.O. Sidorin thoroughly acquainted the guests with the Nuclotron and the mega-project NICA, and also spoke about the history of the Synchrophasotron which is the largest accelerator in the world. During the visit mutual interest in attraction of young specialists in the fields of microvawe-techniques to the laboratory’s activity of was expressed.

Later the delegation visited FLNR, where Head of the Accelerator department B.N.Gikal acquainted visitors with activities on synthesis of superheavy elements and accelerating techniques of this laboratory. Visitors listened with great interest to the information on applied research and production of track membranes.
