On 26 June 2014, the “Bebig” company (portfolio company of “Rosnano”) launched production of full cycle microsources for low-dose-rate brachytherapy which is unique in Russia. “NanoBrachyTech” which is the subsidiary of the “Bebig” company is the resident of the Special Economic Zone “Dubna”. Chairman of the Executive Board of “RUSNANO” Anatoly Chubais participated in the ceremonial opening dedicated to the event.The high-tech complex established in Dubna is the joint project of the European-based group of companies Eckert & Ziegler BEBIG, which is the world leader in this direction, and RUSNANO. Total investment amounted to 688 million roubles, 496 million roubles of this as the contribution of RUSNANO. Brachytherapy is a modern high-tech type of radiotherapy, including treatment of prostate cancer, which is the most sparing for a patient: side effects can be significantly minimized due to the fact that the isotopes for treating are delivered directly to the tumor without affecting the adjacent tissues and organs.
