The 70th anniversary of the birth of Academician Alexei Norairovich Sissakian is on 14 October 2014. On this day, family, friends, colleagues, and pupils honored his memory and laid fresh flowers on the grave of A.N. Sissakian at the Troyekurovskoye Cemetery. The memorial seminar dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the scientist was held in Dubna. V.A. Matveev, M.G. Itkis, V.L. Aksenov, V.V. Belokurov, V.I. Savrin, E.R. Kurapova, I.A. Savin, V.D. Kekelidze, G.S. Pogossian shared their memories of the colleague, the friend, the outstanding scientist and citizen, the man of great soul.

The JINR Publishing Department published a jubilee collection devoted to A.N. Sissakian. The compiler of the collection Boris Starchenko wrote in the preface: "He loved this city, he was proud of achievements of the Institute, he did a great job of keeping traditions and development of JINR, he became director of JINR. His caring approach and genuine interest helped him to be aware of all the important events in the life of the city. Not much happened without his participation, his constructive contribution to the solution of problems."

A literature exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the birth of the famous theoretical physicist, outstanding organizer of science and international cooperation, JINR Director (2006-2010) Alexei Norairovich Sissakian opens on 20 October 2014 in the JINR Science and Technology Library. Scientific works and poetry collections of A.N. Sissakian, as well as materials and collections devoted to his life and scientific creativity will be presented at the exhibition.

Fragments of memoirs of Academician A.N. Sissakian will be published in the 39th issue of the JINR weekly newspaper "Dubna: science, community, progress".
