“New trends in high energy physics”

Today, on 25 September 2018, the 2nd International Conference “New Trends in High-Energy Physics” was opened at the territory of the popular Montenegrin resort Budva on the coast of the Adriatic sea.
The Conference was organized by the Dzhelepov Laboratory of Nuclear Problems, the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research and the “Jadran” company. About 70 scientists and representatives of international collaborations on particle physics from the world leading research laboratories will participate in the Conference. The scientific programme was opened by Director of the Laboratory of Nuclear Problems JINR Dr. Vadim Bednyakov. The participants were greeted by JINR Director Academician V.A. Matveev. JINR Vice-Director Mikhail Itkis delivered an overview of the JINR research programme, reported on the development of the scientific infrastructure and implementation of international megaprojects in Dubna. JINR Vice-Director Dr. Richard Lednický chaired the first session. Within five days of the Conference, a range of physical problems, from research at colliders to neutron physics, is planned to be discussed.
