Today, on 19 October, the Laboratory of High Energy Physics JINR holds a one-day International Meeting “MPD Detector Advisory Committee”.

The meeting was opened with a welcoming speech by Leader of the NICA mega-science project, JINR Vice-Director and VBLHEP Director Vladimir Kekelidze. The status of the MPD project at NICA was presented in the report by Head of the MPD Collaboration Adam Kisiel. Igor Tiapkin devoted his report to the status of hardware of the ECAL electromagnetic calorimeter. Victor Riabov presented information about the progress in the ECAL mathematical simulation. Viacheslav Golovatyuk reported on the MPD tasks for the Stage’0. Marcin Bielewicz made a report on the MPD Cosmic Ray Detector (MCORD) in which he presented information about the progress in realization and answered the experts’ questions. The conceptual design (CDR) of the MiniBeBe detector was presented in the report by Alejandro Ayala from the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
