Lecture in Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology

On 26 May, a lecture of Scientific Secretary of the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions JINR Alexander Karpov was held in the Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology (Oslo). The lecture was dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the discovery of the periodic law by D. I. Mendeleev broadly celebrated within the framework of the International Year of the Periodic Table in 2019. The lecture was about the periodic table, the origins of chemical elements, the history of the discovery of the heaviest of them, including the JINR contribution to the synthesis of superheavy elements.
Due to the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the lecture had an online format and was broadcast on the channel of the Museum on the YouTube video hosting. About 150 people gathered for the event.
