KRION, as this unique equipment called, is a source of highly-charged ions that will be used in the Veksler and Baldin Laboratory of High Energy Physics JINR for the NICA project. The cryogenic ionizer is necessary for generation of gold ions, which are sent to the accelerating structure of the Nuclotron.
