On 25 December, at the end-of-year meeting of the Dubna State University Scientific Council, seven exceptional scientists of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research working at the University received the titles of Distinguished and Honorary Professors.

The title of Distinguished Professor was awarded to:

• FLNR JINR Scientific Leader, Head of the Department of Nuclear Physics at Dubna University Yuri T. Oganessian;
• LRB JINR Scientific Leader, Head of the Department of Biophysics Evgeny A. Krasavin;
• MLIT JINR Scientific Leader, Head of the Department of Distributed Information and Computing Systems at Dubna University Vladimir V. Korenkov.

The title of Honorary Professor was given to:

• VBLHEP JINR Deputy Director for Scientific Work, Professor of the Department of Fundamental Problems of Microworld Physics Alexander S. Sorin;
• Head of the VBLHEP JINR Sector of Research on the Structure of Nuclei and Particles under Extreme Conditions, Head of the Department of General Physics Mikhail V. Tokarev;
• Head of the VBLHEP JINR Scientific and Experimental Department of Heavy Ion Physics, Head of the Department of Physical and Technical Systems Alexander I. Malakhov;
• A BLTP JINR leading researcher, Professor of the Department of Fundamental Problems of Microworld Physics Vladimir S. Melezhik.
