On 24–26 February 2025, Vice-Director of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research Latchesar Kostov and Deputy Director of the Laboratory of Neutron Physics Sergey Kulikov visited the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan (AS RUz) and the AS RUz Institute of Nuclear Physics (INP).

The Presidium of the Academy of Sciences hosted a meeting between the delegation of the Joint Institute and President of the Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences Shavkat Ayupov. Latchesar Kostov congratulated Shavkat Ayupov on his election to a high position on behalf of the JINR Directorate and wished him success in implementing his plans for the benefit of Uzbekistan science. Academician Shavkat Ayupov thanked Latchesar Kostov and expressed his sincere gratitude to Director of the Institute, Academician Grigory Trubnikov for the congratulatory letter.

The JINR Vice-Director informed Shavkat Ayupov about the Institute’s research programme and status in world science. The AS RUz President expressed high appreciation of the role of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in training qualified personnel for Uzbekistan. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation between the Academy of Sciences and current organizational issues.

Academy’s Vice-President Sirojiddin Mirzaev, INP AS RUz Director, Academician Ilkham Sadikov, FLNP JINR Deputy Director Sergey Kulikov, and Head of the National Group of Uzbekistan at JINR Anvar Inoyatov participated in the meeting with the AS RUz President.

The working meeting with INP AS RUz Director Ilkham Sadikov and Deputy Director Mannab Tashmetov focused on the progress and prospects of cooperation between the institutes and the programme of the JINR Days in Uzbekistan scheduled for April 2025.
