The JINR Operational Headquarters for preventing the spread of the coronavirus infection hereinafter informs you about the current situation with the incidence of COVID-19 and about the preventive measures taken in our Institute.

In total, according to the official data as of 31.12.20, there were 155,330 registered coronavirus infection cases in the Moscow region. 2,899 people passed away. 112,335 people recovered and checked out of hospitals. The total number of coronavirus cases in Dubna as of 31.12.20 was 1,034.

In order to protect the health of the JINR staff and in view of the current situation in the country and in the region of the Institute’s location, corresponding orders have been issued on measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus infection, on the working mode of the personnel during the pandemic, as well as orders on suspension and postponing of periodic medical examinations. An agreement was signed with the Social Insurance Fund of the Russian Federation on information interaction in issuing the electronic work incapacity certificate so that to allow workers over 65 to get sick leaves without going to medical institutions in the period of compulsory self-isolation.

According to the orders issued at JINR during the restriction period related to the coronavirus, reception and secondment were fully suspended from April to May 2020 except for single cases of return of our employees from business trips by evacuation flights. From July to December 2020, the International Cooperation Department organized 153 business trips.

During the pandemic, the protocol office of the ICD prepared for JINR foreign employees and short-term visitors cover letters to confirm the aim of the visit and to ensure the right for unimpeded access to the Russian Federation according to the Decree of the Russian Government as of 16 March 2020 No. 635-р with all the amendments and complements.

In May, we were first in the city jointly with Medical Unit No.9 and with the participation of the Dubna City Hospital to carry out PCR tests and tests for coronavirus antibodies of employees. All these examinations are financed by the Institute and are free for JINR employees and their family members. In total, more than 8,000 tests have been made.

Nowadays, we undergo the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic that turned out to be much more dangerous than the first one. According to the Headquarters, the number of COVID-19 patients among JINR employees has been growing over the past two months. A difficult situation with the disease is developing in the city in general.

Mass vaccination against the coronavirus should change the situation. Our city has already started receiving small batches of the Sputnik V vaccine the bulk of which is used for doctors and teachers. The number of vaccines will grow and the Operational Headquarters recommends staff members who do not have contraindications and who have not had COVID-19 to get vaccinated as soon as the vaccine is available. Mass vaccination will allow slowing down and subsequently stopping the pandemic. Nowadays, the laboratories and offices of the Institute make up lists of employees ready to be vaccinated. To be included in them, it is necessary to address to the contact person responsible for COVID-19 issues of your laboratory/department. Information about organization of vaccination is attached.

In December 2020, 5 people were vaccinated (10 % of the received vaccines for the city). In January 2021, 20 people have been vaccinated (25 % of received vaccines for the city). The number of JINR employees who want to be vaccinated is already more than 350 people.
