The first “Ural-1” computing machine in JINR with the capacity of 100 operations/s and magnetic drum memory was put into operation.

“Ural-1 ” is a small (as per classification at the time of its creation) lamp software-controlled computing machine of the “Ural” computer series, aimed at running engineering, technical, and economic queries. It was used in production facilities, computer centers, research institutes, and design bureaus. It was the first mass-produced computer in the USSR.
