President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev will be a guest at the session of the Committee of Plenipotentiary Representatives of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Sofia.

According to the press office of the President of Bulgaria, JINR Vice-Director Latchesar Kostov met with the head of the country in his residence in the Bulgarian capital on Prince Aleksandar Dondukov Boulevard. The parties discussed the prospects for the development of the partnership between Bulgaria and JINR in the fields of fundamental and applied scientific research. Participants of the meeting noted a considerable contribution made by Bulgaria to scientific studies of the Institute throughout the JINR history. Annually, about 100 Bulgarian researchers have working visits to JINR.

At the meeting, Rumen Radev accepted the invitation extended by Latchesar Kostov to become an official guest at the festive session of the Committee of Plenipotentiary Representatives of JINR dedicated to the 65th JINR anniversary. The session will take place in Sofia in November 2021.

It should be reminded that 2021 was declared the Year of Bulgaria in the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.
