News, 25 January 2024
On 25 January, JINR Director Grigory Trubnikov, together with young scientists of the Institute, took part in the grand opening of the Head reference centre of industrial medicine in Dubna in the videoconference format. He will coordinate nine more industrial medicine centres of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA) of Russia in the cities of JINR’s location country.
The event took place online with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova and Head of the FMBA of Russia Veronika Skvortsova.
Speaking at the videoconference, JINR Director Grigory Trubnikov expressed gratitude to the Government and the FMBA of Russia for their support in the development of medical care in Dubna. “The provision of high-quality comprehensive medical care in the Industrial medicine centre created in Dubna by the FMBA is of particular importance to our employees,” JINR Director emphasised.
As another example of joint achievements, Grigory Trubnikov noted the vascular centre opened in Dubna in 2023. Further plans for cooperation include the creation of an innovative Medical and biological centre in the science city based on the JINR superconducting proton cyclotron. At the same time, it is planned to open a modern healthcare centre for women financed by JINR and FMBA in 2024.
Head of the FMBA of Russia Veronika Skvortsova stressed that biomedical science has changed the healthcare paradigm. “We have moved from treating the sick to supporting the healthy. There is now an ideology of comprehensive prevention, which required modernisation of the entire system. Together with the Government of the Russian Federation, with Tatyana Golikova, we have developed a reference system of industrial medicine based on the creation of integrated industrial medicine centres that are as close as possible to people’s workplaces and production processes,” she said.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova: “Starting from 2024, we decided to introduce a separate section with a separate tariff in the programme of state guarantees for free medical care to citizens. In it, the employer establishes an agreement with organizations that work in the compulsory medical insurance system and organizes a system of providing medical care to workers.”
Industrial medicine centres will allow employees to undergo medical examinations quickly and comfortably and receive the necessary medical care. In the science town, such centre is organized at the Medical unit No. 9 of the FMBA of Russia, with a division Digital Health Centre in the Dubna Special economic zone. Director General of the SEZ Anton Afanasyev and Head of the Medical unit No. 9 Irina Larionova participated in the opening.
