A delegation of the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres headed by its President Professor Otmar D. Wiestler visited to JINR on 7 February 2017.

The delegation met with members of the JINR Directorate, leading scientists and specialists of JINR laboratories in the Big Hall of the JINR Club of Scientists. Professor Otmar D. Wiestler and JINR Vice-Director Professor R. Lednický exchanged information on the activities of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research and Helmholtz Association, paying special attention to prospects of development of mutually beneficial cooperation.

The German delegation visited the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions and the NICA complex at the Veksler and Baldin Laboratory of High Energy Physics.

At the meeting with Dubna journalists Professor Otmar D. Wiestler noted that the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research and scientific centers of the Helmholtz Association, in particular, DESY in Hamburg and GSI in Darmstadt, has developed effective cooperation.
