Representatives of 10 high-tech companies of Slovakia participated in the Days of Slovakia in JINR held on 1-3 October 2018. Representatives of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Moscow and the International Bank for Economic Cooperation also participated in the event.
At the opening of the event in the JINR Scientists’ Club, participants were welcomed by JINR Director Academician V.A. Matveev and Deputy Head of the Trade and Economic Section of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Moscow Marek Garbarčík, who conveyed greetings of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic in the Russian Federation Peter Priputen and his wishes for a successful event. The Days of Slovakia in JINR started with a review presentation delivered by JINR Vice-Director Richard Lednický. Acquaintance of representatives of Slovak companies and guests of the event with the scientific infrastructure of JINR was continued with excursions to the Institute’s laboratories, namely VBLHEP, FLNR, DLNP and LIT.
The Slovak businessmen reported on the activities of their companies. Auguste Cryogenics Slovakia, ZTS VVÚ KOŠICE, Cryomont, Sylex, Cryosoft, TRENS SK, NUVIA, SITEL, AmPeng Slovakia and EVPÚ were presented. A wide range of fields in which the companies are engaged includes machine engineering, cryogenics, quality control systems, radiation safety monitoring, production of optical fibres and advanced fire protection equipment. Representatives of all the laboratories and related offices of JINR, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Dubna and Dubna science-based companies took part in this part of the event. The presentations of companies were concluded by a round table devoted to search for areas of mutual interests and organizational issues of cooperation.
Participants of the event considered the format of the past Days of Slovakia in JINR effective. During the discussions, it was noted that the cooperation development necessitates technicians engaged in implementation of JINR scientific projects to be broader informed about the opportunities of industrial companies of Slovakia and other JINR Member States.
After the round table, signing of memorandums on intents with two of the presented companies was held, and preparation of a number of other documents was initiated.
