Competitions of Presidential Research Projects Programme for young scientists

The Russian Science Foundation has announced the start of accepting applications for a competition aimed to support initiative young scientists and for a competition for the support of research conducted by scientific groups led by young scientists, both implemented in the frames of the Presidential Programme of Research Projects.
A single requirement unites the two events: competitive scientific studies should focus on the solution of particular tasks in the frames of one of the priorities specified by the Strategy of the Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation. The winners of the competitions will receive grants to carry out their research. Funding is provided by the Presidential Research Projects Programme.
In the framework of the competition for the support of initiative research of young scientists, RSF 2-year grants will be allocated to carry out fundamental and exploratory studies by scientists aged under 33 who have academic degrees of candidates of sciences. The amount of the annual grant will be from 1,5 (if the researcher intends to conduct the study in their region) up to 2 million rubles (if the researcher plans to move to another region).
The deadline for sending printed versions of applications for participation in the competition is set at 5:00 PM (Moscow time), 5 March 2021. Send documents at the address: Moscow, GSP-2, 109992, 14, Solyanka str., bld. 3. The results of the competition will be announced by 10 July 2021.
In the framework of the competition for the support of studies of scientific groups led by a young researcher, RSF grants will be allocated for three years with an opportunity of prolongation for 2 additional years. Grants will be given for holding fundamental and exploratory studies by youth scientific teams led by candidates or doctors of sciences under 35. The amount of each grant will be from 3 to 6 million rubles annually.

The Presidential Research Projects Programme has been developed at the instruction of the President of the Russian Federation. The programme aims to encourage the formation of the advanced sector of fundamental and exploratory studies in the country that would be internationally recognized and to support the best Russian scientists. All projects should greatly contribute to the development of science and create a foundation for solving tasks of “big challenges” indicated in the Strategy of the Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation.
