Belarus and JINR

About 200 researchers from Belarus participated in implementation of scientific topics of Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.
More than 200 researchers and engineers from 18 organizations of the Ministry of Education, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Ministry of Emergency Situations participated in the implementation of 23 scientific topics of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR), including four topics carried out jointly with CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research, Switzerland-France), in 2016. Such data was announced at the meeting of the Coordination Council for Cooperation with the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in the presence of the Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus in the Committee of Plenipotentiary Representatives of the Governments of the Member States of JINR.
The significant scientific and technical results were obtained on most topics. In particular, we can mention the following ones among them: jointly the RINP of BSU, the PTI of the NAS of Belarus, the National Materials Research Center for Materials Science and the BSUIR completed the development, production and delivery of three prototypes of a superconducting niobium resonator; the developments were held and devices and mechanical structures were delivered within the topic “Development of the JINR Experimental Base for Intensive Heavy Ion and Polarized Nucleus Beams” for the accelerated complex NICA (Nuclotron based Ion Collider facility) in the cooperation with Integral, PUE “Sakrament-IT”, UE “Kapitel”, LLC “NanoTech”, JSC “Planar” and LLC “Artmash”.
It should also be noted that 28 contracts were executed between the Scientific Research Institute of the Yakut State University of the Belarusian State University and JINR. 26 contracts were concluded with Belarusian organizations-co-executors in the reporting year within these contracts. Most of the work for a total of more than 1.5 million USD was aimed at developing electronics, mechanical structures and components of the magnetic system for the collider NICA under construction.
The next meeting of the Coordinating Council for Cooperation with JINR is scheduled for April-May 2018.
