AYSS seminar at JINR Scientists’ Club

Seminars

On 18 September 2024, at 4:00 PM, the Association of Young Scientists and Specialists at JINR invites everyone interested to the next seminar that will take place in the Big Hall of the JINR Scientists’ Club (6, Joliot-Curie street, left side).

A junior reseacher at DLNP JINR Multiple Hadron Processes Department Alexander Boikov will deliver his report “FPGA, or How to achieve zen”.

FPGA technology has long been used in the implementation of specialised hardware solutions. In the past, diving into the world of programmable logic device meant a long journey of learning complex architectures and manual optimisation. The necessary knowledge was a powerful tool for creating high-performance and flexible systems. Today, new tools and approaches have made this path smoother and more accessible.

The speaker will cover the key concepts of FPGA technology, the development process in hardware description languages and high-level languages, synthesis and test methods. Alexander Boikov will also describe global trends in the practical application of FPGA in various fields.
