On 16 February 2018, the seminar “Preparation of the strategy of JINR development until 2030: VBLHEP contribution” presented by VBLHEP Deputy Director Rumen Tsenov was held in the VBLHEP Conference Hall.

Rumen Tsenov started his report by listing the past events.

In March 2016, the order by JINR Director V.A. Matveev was signed on development of long-term strategy of JINR development until 2030. According to recommendations of the 119th Session of the JINR Scientific Council, the working group was established chaired by V.A. Matveev. Vice-Chairmen N.A. Russakovich, B.Yu. Sharkov, JINR Vice-Directors and Directors of the JINR laboratories as well as acknowledged experts from other scientific centres entered the group. The group was supposed to draft proposals for structure and development of the Committee for the long-term strategy of JINR development, the list of directions of high priority of the Committee’s activities and Regulation of them.

In April 2017, at the meeting of the JINR Science and Technology Council, RAS Academician B.Yu. Sharkov presented his report on proposals made by the working group. As directions of high priority, the following issues were suggested: scientific policy; development of JINR as the international intergovernmental organization; staff policy and development of intellectual potential; industrial, social, economic infrastructure. The list of scientific themes was agreed; subgroups for each of them were established.

The report evoked a vivid discussion, the laboratories were proposed to work out their own strategies and, afterwards, discuss the concerted strategy for the whole organization with representatives of each laboratory.

R.Tsenov noted: “At the VBLHEP Directorate meeting I got the task to do this. A large working group was established, 4 meetings were held last year. As the result, we compiled the text for the strategy that was sent to the JINR Directorate”…
