58th meeting of PAC for Condensed Matter Physics

On 25 January 2024, the 58th meeting of the JINR Programme Advisory Committee for Condensed Matter Physics will take place at the JINR International Conference Centre. The Chairperson Dénes Lajos Nagy will open the meeting with a report on the implementation of the recommendations of the previous PAC CMP.

JINR Vice-Director Latchesar Kostov will present information on the Resolution of the 134th session of the JINR Scientific Council (September 2023) and the decisions of the Committee of Plenipotentiaries of the Governments of the JINR Member States (November 2023).

FLNP JINR Director Egor Lychagin will give a report on current activities at the IBR-2 Nuclear Research Facility. Maksim Bulavin will provide an update on the state of work on the project of a new neutron source at the Institute. A report on the current state of the Fourier Stress Diffractometer (FSD) for residual stresses measurement will be presented by Gizo Bokuchava.

Tatiana Murugova and Pavel Karataev will present their scientific reports “Mechanisms of membrane protein crystallisation in “bicelles” and “Scientific and methodical programmes of research with the LINAC accelerator (JINR): FLAP collaboration”.

PAC CMP members will discuss the project assessment template at JINR and participate in a poster session. As part of the event, members of the Committee will meet with the JINR Directorate.

Adoption of the PAC recommendations and proposals for the agenda of the next meeting of the Committee will conclude the event.
