Abstract:

New ternary cluster mode in binary fission is suggested. This mode is the abnormal binary decay which is characterized by a much lower total kinetic energy (TKE) value, a much higher excitation energy of heavy fission fragment and, thus, larger neutron multiplicity. Employing this mode, one can describe the strong enhancement of the 8-11 neutron evaporation channels for Mo+Ba and Zr+Ce pairs in spontaneous fission of 252Cf.
