19th Lomonosov Conference on Elementary Particle Physics
News, 22 August 2019
On 22 August 2019, the 19th Lomonosov Conference was started at at the Faculty of Physics of the Moscow State University. The 19th Lomonosov Conference is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Mendeleev’s Periodic Table of Chemical Elements. This anniversary at the conference will be marked by a special session.
The series of the Lomonosov Conferences started to be held on a regular basis in the year 1992, and since 1993 the conferences have been organized each odd year. The conference is organized by the Faculty of Physics of the Moscow State University and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in cooperation with the Skobeltsyn Institute of Nuclear Physics of MSU and the Institute for Nuclear Research of Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow), Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, and the Russian Foundation for Basic Research.
The Lomonosov Conferences bring together more than 400 theorists and experimentalists to review the present status and future prospects in elementary particle physics. The Programme of the 19th Lomonosov Conference covers the following topics:
- Electroweak Theory, Tests of Standard Model and Beyond,
- Neutrino Physics, Astroparticle Physics,
- Gravitation and Cosmology,
- Developments in QCD (Perturbative and Non-Perturbative Effects),
- Heavy Quark Physics,
- Physics at Present and Future Accelerators.
Following the tradition that has started in 1995, the 13th International Meeting on Problems of Intelligentsia will be held on the last day of the 19th Lomonosov conference. A special Round Table discussion on «Frontiers in Particle Physics» and a Poster Session will be also held on the during the closing day of the 19th Lomonosov Conference, on 28 August 2019.
