The possibility of obtaining 4×1011 3He2+ ions per pulse based on the theory of ionization in a classical electron beam trap is presented.
Ionization and accumulation occurs in a high-perveance electron beam with a current density of 50 A/cm2. The possible design of the ionizer is presented and the parameters of the main elements of the installation are determined. The ionizer can be used for efficient multiple ionization of elements of a periodic system with a binding energy of 1.5 keV.
