136th session of JINR Scientific Council

On 12-13 September, the 136th session of the JINR Scientific Council will take place at the JINR International Conference Centre in a hybrid format. At the meeting, the members of the Scientific Council will hear a report by the Director of the Institute Grigory Trubnikov, consider recommendations of the JINR Programme Advisory Committees held in June 2024, and discuss the JINR Topical Plan for 2025.
The SC session will start with a report by JINR Director Grigory Trubnikov on the current activity and recent results of the Institute. Chairs of the JINR Programme Advisory Committees Itzhak Tserruya, Valery Nesvizhevsky, and Dénes Lajos Nagy will introduce the participants to the recommendations adopted at the meetings of PACs for Particle Physics, Nuclear Physics, and Condensed Matter Physics in June. A professor from the Indian Institute of Technology Indore Raghunath Sahoo will deliver a scientific report on the search for quark-gluon matter at the Large Hadron Collider. At the closed session concluding the first day, the Council will elect the director of the Laboratory of Radiation Biology and new JINR PAC members.
On 13 September, young scientists will present reports recommended at the meetings of the JINR Programme Advisory Committees to the members of the Scientific Council. 2023 JINR Prize laureates will receive honorary diplomas for the best scientific works, including methodological and technical ones. In addition, on the second day of the meeting, the laureates of three 2024 international prizes named after world-famous scientists and JINR founding fathers – Nikolai Bogoliubov, Georgy Flerov, and Venedikt Dzhelepov – will be announced. A general discussion and adoption of the resolution of the Scientific Council will conclude the 136th meeting.
