JINR Newsletter #30, 14 August 2024Dear colleagues and friends, Last week, JINR hosted an international seminar to pay tribute to one of the leading JINR researchers, Igor Golutvin, Chief Researcher of the Scientific and Experimental Physics Department at CMS at VBLHEP, Scientific Leader of the CMS Experiment at the LHC (CERN). Also included in the latest issue of the JINR Newsletter are a selection of publications by JINR scientists, announcements of major conferences, and a historical film about Dubna.
SeminarsJINR hosted seminar in memory of Igor GolutvinOn 8 August, the International Seminar entitled “Experimental Methods in Particle Physics” took place at JINR to commemorate Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor Igor Golutvin. More than 100 researchers took part in discussing topical issues of the development of modern particle physics experiments.
ConferencesRegistration for ICPPA-2024 International Conference continuesFrom 22 to 25 October, Moscow will host the 7th International Conference on Particle Physics and Astrophysics (ICPPA-2024), organized by Moscow Engineering Physics Institute. You can register and submit your abstract via the link until 10 September.
Evolving Universe: Theory and Observations Conference invites applicationsOn 7–12 October, a conference in memory of the world-renowned scientist Alexei A. Starobinsky (1948-2023) will take place at Yerevan State University. The event aims to discuss tendencies in cosmology and astrophysics. Registration is available via the event’s website until 1 September. The Journal of Alloys and Compounds issued an article on this research.
Nonlinear (3, 4, 1) multiplet of N=4, d=1 supersymmetry as semidynamical spin multipletThe research was carried out by scientists from the Laboratory of Theoretical Physics at JINR and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. The paper was issued in Physical Review D. READ MORE ➟Coherent interactions of fast proton with short-range NN correlations in nucleusLeading scientists from the Laboratory of Theoretical Physics and the Laboratory of Nuclear Problems at JINR conducted research on coherent interactions of a fast proton with the short-range NN correlations in the nucleus, using data from the BM@N Experiment at NICA. The results were published in Physical Review C. READ MORE ➟On development of semi-interpenetrating polymer-micellar networksA team of scientists from FLNP JINR, Moscow State University, Kurchatov Institute, and Karaganda Buketov University (Kazakhstan) conducted research that paves the way for the development of dual semi-interpenetrating polymer-micellar networks, which are in demand in the petroleum industry. Their findings were published in Polymers.
Hydrodynamical dual of the gravitational axial anomaly and the cosmological constantScientists from the Laboratory of Theoretical Physics at JINR conducted a joint research with the Kurchatov Institute. The results of the study were published in Physical Review D.
