A school for teachers of physics from JINR Member States

The Scientific school for teachers of physics from JINR Member States organized by the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) and the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) was held on 1-7 November 2015.
The programme of the School included the following topics: acquaintance with CERN, particle physics, cosmology, LHC experiments, accelerators, medical applications of particle physics, etc. Participants of the School visited experimental pavilions, met physicists in informal and working atmosphere and went on excursions. Lectures and excursions were held in the Russian language by staff members of CERN, JINR and other Russian scientific organizations whose staff members work at CERN.
43 teachers of physics from general educational institutions of the JINR Member States participated in the School.
The main goal of holding such Schools is the acquaintance of the teachers of general educational institutions with the accelerators, physical programs, the intellectual and technical potential of the European organization for nuclear research for supporting and raising of the interest of schoolchildren to modern physics.
