The JINR delegation finished its work at the IAEA General Conference

Information materials which were presented by JINR at the IAEA General Conference attracted attention of a significant number of delegates. The JINR exposition began its work on September 14, during the next three days representatives of many national delegations of the JINR Member States and JINR associate members took a close look at the institute; issues of cooperation and forthcoming festive events dedicated to the 60th anniversary of JINR were discussed with the JINR delegation. Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to JINR Suren Davaa visited the JINR exposition on September 16.
During the work of the Conference the JINR delegation held a series of working meetings aimed at enhancement the existing scientific relations and establishing new ones. In particular, negotiations with President of the Turkish Atomic Energy Authority Zafer Alper and Head of the International Collaboration and Planning Division of the Atomic Energy Commission of the Government of India Mr. Arun Srivastava were held.
A meeting with Director General of the South African Nuclear Energy Corporation (NECSA) Phumzile Tshelane was devoted to coordination of joint work of FLNP (JINR) and NECSA in the frames of the RSA and JINR collaboration program. Geographical expansion of JINR was discussed with Chairman of the Greek Atomic Energy Commission Christos Housiadas and Director of the Arab Atomic Energy Agency Abdelmajid Mahjoub, who visited Dubna in the early summer this year.
IAEA Deputy Director General Aldo Malavasi received the JINR delegation on September 17; prospects of cooperation of IAEA and JINR and possible visit of Mr. Malavasi to Dubna in the nearest future were discussed at the meeting.
