A multigenre creative platform “ART SCHOOL theatrical Wednesday” aimed at work with children and the youth will operate in a newly coming season in the JINR Cultural Centre “Mir”.

The cultural and educational project includes specially staged theatrical performances for school children of the Dubna science city. Classics of Russian and foreign literature included in the curricula of primary, secondary and senior schools will be staged.

The project aims to combine cultural and educational upbringing of children with school education using pieces of Russian and foreign classical literature included in the school programme.

The project solves several tasks. It gives an opportunity to schoolchildren to watch staged literature pieces studied in schools at literature lessons and teaches them to express their thoughts during discussions of performances they have watched. In the frames of the project, school students will learn theatrical lexis and the theatrical language.

It is planned to hold performances once a month (on weekdays during the whole academic year).

The first two plays will be:

• On 25 September, at 3.00 PM Cultural and educational project “ART SCHOOL theatrical Wednesday”. The play “The little humpbacked horse (Konyok-Gorbunok)”.
