Seminars

Joint DLNP Seminar

Date and Time: Monday, 22 October 2018, at 11:00 AM

Venue: Conference Hall, Dzhelepov Laboratory of Nuclear Problems

Seminar topic: «Heidelberg Looking for neutrinoless double beta decay: Ge-76 experiments at LNGS»

Speaker: Dr. Bernhard Schwingenheuer (Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics)

Abstract

Neutrinoless double beta decay is possibly the only experimentalprobe to test the Majorana character of neutrinos. There are several isotopes like Ge-76, Te-130 or Xe-136 which can be used for the search. At LNGS the ongoing GERDA and the future LEGEND-200 Experiments deploy germanium detectors made from material enriched in Ge-76. The current status and future program is discussed in this talk.
