The JINR school for teachers
Education, 26 June 2018
The regular International Scientific school for teachers of physics at JINR was launched yesterday, on 25 June 2018, in Dubna. Such scientific schools have been organized since 2009 by the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) and the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN).
22 teachers from Belarus, India, Russia and Ukraine with their best 9 and 10 grade students came to JINR for participation in the School. The programme of the School includes popular-science lectures by leading JINR specialists, excursions to experimental facilities and JINR laboratories. A special programme is prepared for school students: training on physics as well as a scientific seminar at which students will present their reports on one of the branches of physics will be held. Reports will be made in the format of synopsis, the story about the original study, performance of the experiment, its explanations etc. Every high school student invited to participate in the School is supposed to make a report at the scientific seminar.
This year, the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, the European Organization for Nuclear Research and the Dubna State University are organizers of the School.
