The European School CERN-JINR

The 2009 European School of High-Energy Physics (formerly the CERN-JINR School of Physics) jointly organized by the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), Geneva, Switzerland and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR), Dubna, Russia was held on 14-27July in Bautzen, Germany.
Lectures on urgent problems in high energy physics were given within the framework of the school. Among lecturers were Professor of the Bogolyubov Institute for Theoretical Physics (NAS, Ukraine), Member of the JINR Scientific Council G.Zinoviev (a course of lectures “Heavy-Ion Physics”); discussions were led by the young scientific researchers M.Savina and D.Naymov.
CERN Director General Professor R.Heuer and JINR Director RAS Academician A. Sissakian gave the lectures about the scientific programmes of CERN and JINR on the final lecture day. The heads of scientific centres had a meeting where issues of cooperation were discussed.
