The 1st Joint Coordination Committee ARE-JINR

The 1st Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research started its work in the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (Cairo) on 30 November 2010. The main task of the Committee was to approve scientific and research projects of JINR with scientific organizations of ARE.

Vice President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology Professor Mahmoud Sakr, Vice President of the Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority Professor Mohamed Ezzat Abd El-Azeem, Professor Tarek Hussein from Cairo University, Professor Hussein El-Samman from the University of Menofia & AUC and a number of experts took part in the Committee’s work. The JINR delegation included R.Lednický, D.V.Kamanin, E.A.Krasavin, S.Z.Pakuliak, V.V.Ivanov, D.P.Kozlenko, E.V. Pryanichnikova and I.A.Smirnova. The JINR delegation visited the Tabbin Institute for Metallurgical Studies on 1 December 2010; staff-members of the institute successfully have been taking part in scientific projects of the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions for a long time.

Professor Mohamed El-Kolaly welcomed the JINR delegation at the Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority (EAEA) on 2 December 2010 where the sides exchanged opinions about arrangements on intensification of cooperation. In particular, the sides discussed arrangements on organization of long-term visits of young Egyptian scientists to JINR laboratories for work in the frames of approved research projects. Interested in cooperation with JINR, experts of the EAEA took part in the discussion. At the end of the meeting signing of the Committee resolutions was held. The signing started 14 joint projects which involve all of the JINR laboratories into cooperation with ARE.
