From 10 to 13 October 2017 a workshop on development of scientific and educational contacts between the Republic of Moldova and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research was held. On the Moldovan side the workshop programme was coordinated by Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Moldova to JINR Veaceslav Ursachi.

Executive officer of the JINR contacts with the Republic of Moldova Victor Voronov, Director of the JINR University Centre Stanislav Pakuliak, Head of the JINR International Cooperation Department Dmitry Kamanin came from JINR to Chisinau.

Participants of the Workshop analyzed the current state of cooperation and outlined steps to improve its coordination, including interaction with JINR on a working level and presentation of opportunities of JINR in the information field of Moldova.

In the frames of the Workshop, a meeting with the University of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Moldova and a round table with its students were organized. The rector of the University Maria Duca warmly welcomed the guests and expressed her interest in enhancement of cooperation in the frames of existing agreements of the University with JINR, including activity on coordination of the participation of Moldova in the educational programmes of JINR.

The JINR delegation took part in the business programme of the EXPO-RUSSIA MOLDOVA 2017 which was held in Chisinau in the “Palace of the Republic.” The educational opportunities of JINR were presented at a round table organized by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Moldova.

The visit of the JINR delegation to Chisinau and the past Workshop on development of scientific and educational contacts were held in the frames of the 25th anniversary of the participation of the Republic of Moldova in JINR as an independent state.
