A ceremonial opening of an alley named after the remarkable Polish scientist Academician of the Polish Academy of Science Professor of the Institute of Nuclear Physics (Krakow) Jerzy Janik was held on 29 September 2012 at the area of the Dzhelepov Laboratory of Nuclear Problems.

Participants of the JINR Scientific Council from Poland, Polish staff members of JINR, FLNP staff members attended the ceremony.
