Mongolian State University celebrates its 70th anniversary

The festive events dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Mongolian State University (MonSU) were held in Ulaanbaatar on 26 September – 5 October 2012.
JINR was represented at the festive events by JINR Chief Scientific Secretary N.A. Russakovich and Head of LIT Sector O. Chuluunbaatar.
N.A.Rusakovich presented to leaders of the University a greeting address and anniversary gifts, and presented the diploma “Honorary Doctor of JINR” to MonSU graduate Academician T.Zhanlav for his significant contribution to cooperation and training of young scientists.
The Mongolian State University is the world-recognized higher education institution. According to the strategic road map for the period up to 2020 not only high-quality staff will be trained in MonSU, but also MonSU will be reorganized into a research center.
N.A. Russakovich discussed issues of cooperation in education area as well as in research area with the newly appointed Plenipotentiary of the Mongolian Government in JINR Director of the MonSU Nuclear Research Centre Professor S. Davaa, MonSU President Professor S.Tumur-Ochir, and Director of the Mongolian Atomic Energy Authority Mr. N.Tegshbayar. Issues of increasing of the JINR membership’s fee of Mongolia according to the new scale, and intention to increase the number of scientists and experts, mostly young, who are sent to JINR, were discussed.
During the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the MonSU Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science foundation LIT Deputy Director V.V. Korenkov was awarded the Badge of Honor of the Mongolian Government “Leading scientific researcher” for training highly skilled specialists in the fields of computer science.
