On 28 October 2016, at the General meeting of the Russian Academy of Sciences the results of the RAS elections, which were held on 24-27 October, were confirmed. According to them, three more scientists from JINR were elected as members of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

JINR Vice-Director Grigory Trubnikov became a full member of the Physical Sciences Division of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Chief Researcher at the Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics JINR Dmitry Kazakov was elected as a corresponding member of the Physical Sciences Division of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Leading Researcher at the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions JINR Leonid Grigorenko was also elected as a corresponding member of the Physical Sciences Division of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

On the same day, at a meeting of the JINR Science and Technology Council JINR Director, RAS Academician Victor Matveev personally congratulated the scientists on being awarded the honorary titles and noted that the way JINR is represented at RAS should promote further enhancement of the prestige of our Institute.
