JINR Days in Uzbekistan

From 22 to 24 April, the Days of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Uzbekistan will take place in Tashkent and Samarkand. A delegation of the Institute’s Directorate, leading scientists from JINR laboratories, and the leadership of Dubna State University and the Dubna branch of Moscow State University will take part in meetings at the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences (AS RUz) and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Members of the delegation will introduce their colleagues in Uzbekistan to the scientific and educational programmes of JINR, Dubna State University, and the MSU branch. The Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan will host exhibitions dedicated to the activities of the Joint Institute.
On 22 April, at the opening of JINR Days in the Republic of Uzbekistan, President of the Academy Shavkat Ayupov and JINR Director Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Grigory Trubnikov will speak at the AS RUz Presidium. The event’s participants will hear presentations on research topics by JINR Scientific Leader, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Victor Matveev, Director of the AS RUz Institute of Nuclear Physics, AS RUz Academician Ilkhom Sadikov, and Director of the Laboratory of Radiation Biology Aleksander Bugay. At the opening of the JINR Days in the Republic of Uzbekistan, it is planned to sign a general agreement on AS RUz–JINR scientific and technical partnership.
As part of the event’s programme, the Institute’s delegation will discuss Uzbekistan–JINR cooperation prospects during meetings with the leadership of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan, the Atomic Energy Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and representatives of the Republic’s Government.
It is planned to organize working visits and presentations by leading JINR scientists in academic research institutions specialising in nuclear physics, mathematics, biology, and astronomy. The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation and Samarkand State University will hold a round table to discuss the state and prospects of previously reached agreements on the implementation of joint educational programmes with Dubna State University and JINR. In addition, the delegation members are scheduled to meet with students and professors of Tashkent and Samarkand universities.
The purpose of the event is to expand JINR’s collaboration with research institutes of the Academy of Sciences and educational institutions of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan. JINR Days in Uzbekistan will contribute to bringing the cooperation to a qualitatively new level.
The Joint Institute holds JINR Days in the Member States to strengthen of partnership in science and education. The discussions at the events cover a wide range of relevant areas of joint research work and develop new initiatives for collaboration between scientists.
JINR Days in the Republic of Uzbekistan will be the first event dedicated to the 70th JINR anniversary held in the Member States.
