Seminars

Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics

Nuclear Physics Division

Scientific leader: Valery Shvetsov

Date and Time: Wednesday, 12 February 2025, at 3:00 PM

Venue: FLNP Conference Hall, Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics

Seminar topic: “Interaction of neutrons with atomic nuclei”

Speaker: Ivan Ruskov (Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy of Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, TANGRA Collaboration)

Abstract:

The seminar is dedicated to neutron nuclear physics, the speaker will discuss experimental studies of the interactions between neutrons of various energies and atomic nuclei. The lecturer, who has 45 years of experience in this field, will share the results of research conducted using various neutron sources, including IRT-2000, IBR-2, IBR-30, GELINA, and ING-27. In addition, the seminar will cover neutron time-of-flight spectroscopy, impulse gas ionisation chambers, and different types of (multi)detector systems for registration products of neutron-induced nuclear reactions and determining their characteristics.
