Seminar topic: “A review of the use of Advanced TCA and Micro TCA electronics in high energy particle physics experimental facilities”
Speaker: Vitaly Smirnov
The review considers examples of using electronics in the Advanced TCA and Micro TCA standards in high-energy particle physics facilities. The electronics in the new standards are built on a modular principle, providing high-speed data transfer and flexibility in the interconnections between modules. A brief description of the main provisions, terms, and equipment used in the new standards is given. Electronics in the Advanced TCA and Micro TCA standards have been used to upgrade and create data acquisition systems for experimental facilities at CERN, Fermi Laboratory (Batavia, USA), and the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory (USA). It is used to create control and monitoring systems for accelerator complexes at the DESY and GSI Laboratories, the European XFEL Facility (Germany), the European Spallation Source Facility (Sweden), and the KEK and J-PARC Laboratories (Japan).
