Agreement between JINR and FMBA was signed

On 27 June 2016, an agreement between JINR and the Federal Biomedical Agency (FMBA) was signed, defining and regulating the main aims and forms of cooperation between the organizations. The agreement also represents the foundation for the development and realization of joint medical, scientific, innovational, industrial and other projects carried out on the basis of the international mega-science project NICA and research infrastructure of JINR and FMBA.
The strengthening of cooperation is aimed at joint development of perspective medical and radiation technologies in the fields of high-tech medical care, nuclear physics, charged particle accelerators, beam, detector and adjacent technologies; development of means of ensuring radiation safety of JINR personnel; organization of aid and rendering assistance to JINR stuff members; creating joint healthcare development programmes as well as maintaining and development of the Medical Unit 9. The agreement presupposes implementing joint innovational and scientific projects by means of development institutions, federal purpose-oriented programmes and private sectors; creating joint working groups; exchanging specialists and information; holding conferences, seminars and business meetings.
This agreement, bearing great scientific, technological and social significance, is part of a series of agreements between JINR, the Russian Federation, the Moscow Region Administration and the State Atomic Energy Corporation “Rosatom”.
