135th session of JINR Scientific Council

On 15–16 February, the 135th session of the JINR Scientific Council will take place at the JINR International Conference Centre in a hybrid format. Members of SC will hear and discuss a report by JINR Director Grigory Trubnikov, consider recommendations of the JINR Programme Advisory Committees held in January, and elect Deputy Directors of the Laboratory of Nuclear Problems and the Laboratory of Neutron Physics. The decision on awarding JINR annual prizes for the best research works will be made.
A report by JINR Director, RAS Academician Grigory Trubnikov on the current activity and recent results of the Institute will open the meeting. Chairpersons of the JINR Programme Advisory Committees Itzhak Tserruya, Valery Nesvizhevsky, and Dénes Lajos Nagy will talk about recommendations adopted at the meetings of PACs for Particle Physics, Nuclear Physics, and Condensed Matter Physics in January 2024. JINR Chief Scientific Secretary Sergey Nedelko will make a report on the amendments to the Regulation on the elections of Directors and the endorsed appointments of Deputy Directors of the JINR laboratories.
Proposals for the appointments of DLNP and FLNP Deputy Directors will be presented, elections will be held, and vacancies for positions in the Directorates of JINR laboratories will be announced at the session. Young scientists will present reports recommended at the meetings of the JINR Programme Advisory Committees to the members of the Scientific Council. During the session, decisions on awarding the annual JINR prizes for the best works in the field of theoretical and experimental research, methodological and technological research, applied technology research, and the title Honorary Doctor of JINR will be adopted. A general discussion and adoption of the resolution of the Scientific Council will conclude the meeting.
