New Year’s greeting of JINR Director Grigory Trubnikov
Organization, 30 December 2023
Dear friends and colleagues!
On behalf of the Directorate of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, I would like to wish you a happy New Year!
As we bid farewell to the past year, we cannot help but feel the magic of a fresh start. Something new awaits us, evoking genuine excitement and anticipation deep down.
This year has been challenging for us, yet it has shed light on how valuable it is how our large international team has bonded. We channeled our efforts into fulfilling the Institute’s scientific tasks. Through dedication and hard work our researchers, engineers, and specialists managed to overcome all obstacles in this path and achieve remarkable results.
This year is special for the Institute as it summarises the result of the Seven-Year Plan for the Development of JINR for 2017-2023. In this regard, we have much to take pride in. Our flagship projects NICA, Baikal-GVD, and Superheavy Element Factory have shown great results, and we have started research in new directions, such as life sciences, digitalisation, innovative projects, and much more. We have significantly expanded our international partner network by strengthening ties with China, Mexico, India, and Brazil. We are developing our educational programmes, introducing new formats of cooperation and youth involvement, and renovating social infrastructure. Our Institute has managed to maintain its position of sustainable development, securing its role as one of the leaders in world science. With everything we do, we confirm the Institute’s fundamental principle: “Science brings nations together.”
This grants us the right to look forward with confidence. As we greet the New Year 2024, we begin the Institute’s new Seven-Year Plan as well. We turn this page with an expectation for new accomplishments and the excitement of pioneers at the forefront of science.
In moments like this, we deeply feel the fragility of simple ingredients of human happiness. Let this magical festive season be full of joy and smiles of those we care for.
Dear colleagues, dear friends, and partners from the Member States and research laboratories of the world, I wish you all bright new achievements, inspiration, and creative work in your research. Thank you for your dedication, I truly believe that by joining our efforts, we will meet any challenges! I wish you and your loved ones happiness and prosperity!
