AYSS seminar at JINR Scientists’ Club

Seminars

On 4 October 2023, at 4:00 PM, the Association of Young Scientists and Specialists at JINR invites everyone interested to the next seminar that will take place in the Big Hall of the JINR Scientists’ Club (6, Joliot-Curie street, left side).

Ekaterina Shipilova, a junior researcher at LRB JINR, will make a report “Search for SNP markers related to human cognitive abilities”.

Each cell of our body stores a unique, individual assembly guide. This guide stores all the information about you, namely the way you look, your diseases, whether you are prone to bad habits, and even what character traits you have. At the seminar, we will answer the following questions: how to decipher the information encoded in us? How can we use molecular genetic analysis to find genes related to human cognitive abilities, the most complex functions of the brain? And what does this knowledge give us in practical terms?

There will be a small coffee break at 4:00 PM, which precedes the seminar. The report will start at 4:15 PM.

To join the event on 4 October, please fill in the form via the link not later than 4:00 PM 3 October.
