Autumn call for JINR International Postdoctoral Programme started

News, 01 October 2023

Applications for participation in the JINR Postdoctoral Programme are accepted from 1 October to 1 November 2023. The JINR Postdoctoral Programme is aimed at young scientists specialising in theoretical and experimental particle physics, nuclear physics, relativistic heavy ion physics, condensed matter physics, and radiobiology. The original appointment will be for 1 year, with the possibility to renew it for another 2 years.

The postdoctoral programme (postdoc, postdoctoral research, postdoctoral fellowship) is a temporary position (rate) at universities and research centres, which is occupied by young scientists with a PhD degree shortly after defending their theses. The JINR Postdoctoral Programme provides an opportunity for young early-stage researchers to take part in scientific projects of the Joint Institute, including flagship ones. The programme includes a wide range of topics such as neutrino and nuclear physics, biophysics, theoretical studies, materials research (including nanomaterials), high-performance computing, and accelerator technology.

The postdoc position is open to researchers who have defended their PhD thesis less than five years ago, are under forty years of age, and have not had more than three temporary positions in different research institutes and fields.

The requirements for applicants include work experience in international collaborations, the ability to conduct experiments and analyse data, and the ability to work independently as needed.

Applications for participation in the autumn call are accepted until 1 November. The results of the competition will be announced by 1 December.
