Seminar topic: “Development of analytical studies of materials used for low-background experiments”
Speaker: Alimardon Rakhimov
At the seminar, the methods – inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry and neutron activation analysis – for analyzing samples as well as materials used for low-background experiments will be considered.
Another topic for discussion will be theoretical and practical aspects of methods for separating and concentrating impurities (evaporation, chromatography, leaching, etc.) in mass spectrometry and neutron activation analysis of substances to improve detection limits of ultra-small amounts of impurities (≤ μBq/kg) of natural radionuclides 232Th and 238U.
(In connection with the election for the position of a senior researcher.)
