From 3 to 8 July, the Joint Institute will host a Summer science intensive school “Physics and Technology of Accelerators”, organized jointly by JINR and Tomsk Polytechnic University. The School is aimed at 3-4 year students of engineering and physical specialties of technical universities of Russia interested in modern accelerator technologies.

The lectures of the School cover a wide range of topics dedicated to accelerator technology, i.e. cyclotrons, synchrotrons, ion colliders, impulse accelerators and accelerators used for applied tasks, medical accelerators; sources of synchrotron and neutron fluxes, beam diagnostics and accelerator control systems. The lectures will be delivered in Russian.

In addition to the lecture programme, the participants will go on excursions to the JINR basic facilities, such as the NICA Complex and the DC-280 Cyclotron at the Superheavy Element Factory.

The host organizes transportation to Dubna, accommodation in the student dormitory (Dubna, 10 Leningradskaya street), as well as meals for the participants of the School.
