On 10 November 2022, at 4:00 PM, the Association of Young Scientists and Specialists of JINR invites you to the next seminar that will take place in the hall of the JINR Scientists’ Club (6, Joliot-Curie street, left side). This week, the seminar will be held in the second working language of JINR, English.

Pavel Kohout (FLNR) will make a report “Mass spectroscopy of superheavy atoms”. This talk will deal with two mass spectrometers developed for measurement of mass of superheavy nuclei. Both are different and each use for the measurement other physical principle. First is called MASHA (Mass Analyzer of SuperHeavy Atoms) and is currently operational. Second one will be MR-TOF MS (Multiple-reflection time-of-flight mass spectrometer), which is being built in the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions.

There will be a small coffee break at 4:00 PM, which precedes the seminar. The report will start at 4:15 PM.
