FEFU students trained at JINR
Education, 19 April 2022
On 18 April, 2022, a two-week training at JINR started for 2- and 3-year physics students of the Institute of High Technologies and Advanced Materials of the Far Eastern Federal University.
During the training, 13 students will be introduced to the modern automation technologies, vacuum technology and equipment, main radio-electronic components, and RF elements and technology. The training consists of a series of lectures, as well as hands-on independent work comprising electronics, programming, and physics. This training is aimed at boosting the basic skills of engineering and technical specialists.
“Cooperation between JINR and the Far Eastern University has a long history. We are currently deploying new formats of interaction with the universities of the JINR Member States. Thus, the FEFU-based JINR Information Centre will make it possible to inform students, schoolchildren, and teachers from Vladivostok about the scientific achievements of the Institute, and increase interaction between scientific groups. This training is a new project that combines both theoretical and practical skills of students. Thirteen FEFU students will get an opportunity to find out more about the modern accelerator technologies used to solve advanced tasks in physics and engineering, in particular, for one of the first Russian mega-science projects – NICA collider at JINR. Hopefully, the trainees will not only improve their professional skills, but also make useful contacts in Dubna”, said Alexander Verkheev, Deputy Director of the JINR University Centre.
The training at the modern scientific facilities is possible through the programme supporting motivated students “Academic Excellence and Honors Education (AEHE)”. Before the training, the students had a course of online lectures by JINR scientists and specialists.
