On 25 – 27 March 2022, visits to the interactive exhibition “JINR Basic Facilities” located in the Culture Centre “Mir” were organized for Dubna citizens. The events were dedicated to the 66th anniversary of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. This way the Institute invited everyone to get to know its history and celebrate its holiday with the city. Within three days, about 300 visitors attended the exhibition.

The interactive exhibition outlines the history of the Institute’s establishment, its scientific experiments and achievements, and fundamental and applied research conducted in the laboratories. The models of the FLNR cyclotron, FLNP pulsed reactor IBR-2, MPD magnet of the NICA collider, and other facilities were described in detail by specialists of the Institute. At the exhibition, guests were able not only to see the models of the basic facilities and learn how they operate, but also to look inside the laboratories using VR glasses.

The exhibition has become a platform for people of all ages to start their acquaintance with science!

Applications for guided tours to be organized for school groups during the spring break are currently being accepted.
